iv spent hrs and hrs studying swings and your wrong. the majority of mlb players do line their knocking knuckles up. the reason given in the vid is wrong though. the reason for it is- lining up your knocking knuckles keeps your wrists free to make that "snap" needed. The more turned they are the more locked up the wrists are. There are some major leaguers that are fine with slightly locked up grips- generally extreme power hitters like fielder.

lining your knuckles can lead to wrist injuries. One way to prevent this is to have the top hand's knocking knuckles line up in the middle of the first and second knuckles of the bottom hand. If you extend the finger you'll get a X. This will allow you to use your top hand for more whip action and not jam your bottom wrist.

When fundamental grip is not developed, as a coach we are robbing that player from a progressive development. Yes, the swing will take time to develop.A player/coach with out a goal of better development to strive to get the most from our given ability, we are than stealing time and opportunity from players. Do it right now and fix it now. Do not sacrifice another day or season.

I have been in teams where coaches have used this before, but every one of them said the same thing - if you're hitting the ball and you're hitting the ball well, don't change a thing! They taught the ones that were having problems with their grip to do it this way and it worked for them. They left the rest alone. Great philosophy in my opinion...but that's just me..

another useful tip would be to not grip the bat all the way back up in the palms of your hands, this could be back cuz you cant use ur wrists when hitting and you lose alot of bat control

Lining your knuckles up so the forefinger points the same way is fine - but that grip will promote an opposite field hit - if you want to pull the ball, use a "stronger" (box) grip - where your forefingers cross when extended.

If you're right handed your grip should be ....middle knuckle of left index finger smack in the center of your pinky's right hand (top Hand).....pop your index fingers out and they should be perfectly straight. There he was correct........happy hitting everyone.
